Have you heard about the Save Lennox campaign? It’s a sad story of a little girl’s dog in Ireland that’s been incarcerated. The girl is disabled and the dog is her service dog. I had the chance to hear Victoria Stillwell from It’s Me or The Dog (TV show) talk about this last night.
What struck me (beyond the story) were two things:
- The importance of service dogs within healthcare. They now do a lot of things beyond simply help the blind.
- The rising issue of dog bites and the fact that breed specific legislation (BSL) doesn’t work. Dog bites have gone up in areas where pit bulls have been banned.
